DNPEP Antibody (Q-16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DNPEP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DNPEP antibody (Q-16) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. DNPEP, also known as DAP, ASPEP, or aspartyl aminopeptidase, is a 475 amino acid protein belonging to the M18 family of the MH clan of co-catalytic metallopeptidases. DNPEP features three zinc finger binding domains and several conserved residues, including three histidines, three glutamates, and five aspartates, which are crucial for enzymatic activity. DNPEP is widely expressed throughout the body, with highest levels found in the testis, intermediate levels in the kidney and lung, and notable expression in the spleen, liver, and brain. One of the key functions of DNPEP is removing glutamyl or aspartyl residues from the N-terminal of acidic amino acid-containing peptides, highlighting significance in intracellular protein and peptide metabolism. In the brain, DNPEP plays a vital role in converting Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II, which is essential for regulating blood pressure. This function suggests that DNPEP may serve as a potential target for antihypertensive therapy, making DNPEP an important protein for both physiological regulation and therapeutic intervention.

I am using DNPEP (Q-16): sc-100492 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
