DHRS2 Antibody (1F10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DHRS2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DHRS2 antibody (1F10) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. DHRS2, also known as dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR family) member 2, SDR25C1, or HEP27, consists of 258 amino acids and is primarily localized in the nucleus, where DHRS2 plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism. As an NADPH-dependent dicarbonyl reductase, DHRS2 is involved in the conversion of cortisone to cortisol, as well as the oxidation of androgens and estrogens, thereby influencing cell replication and growth. This regulatory function is particularly important in maintaining hormonal balance and cellular homeostasis, which can have significant implications in various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer and metabolic disorders. The gene encoding DHRS2 is located on human chromosome 14, a region that is home to over 700 genes and is implicated in several genetic conditions, including Alzheimer′s disease and α1-antitrypsin deficiency.
