O vírus da dengue, um membro do género Flavivirus e da família Flaviviridae, causa a febre da dengue, a doença febril aguda encontrada nos trópicos. Esta doença infecciosa é caracterizada por um início súbito de febre, com fortes dores de cabeça, dores musculares e articulares e erupções cutâneas, e dura cerca de seis a sete dias. O vírus da dengue é transmitido aos seres humanos através dos mosquitos. O genoma do vírus da dengue é um ARN de cadeia simples de sentido positivo que codifica três proteínas estruturais (capsídeo, membrana e envelope) e sete proteínas não estruturais (NS1, NS2A, NS2B, NS3, NS4A, NS4B e NS5). Existem quatro serotipos do vírus da dengue: Vírus da Dengue1, 2, 3 e 4. O vírus da dengue 1 representa uma estirpe única que apareceu pela primeira vez em 1987.

What is the epitope of this antibody? I know this question has been asked before but knowing the exact epitope is extremely important especially for researchers who mutate proteins. Without that information, the antibody is practically useless.

Thank you for your question. We do know that this monoclonal antibody specifically recognizes Dengue envelope antigen (anti-E or envelope specific) for all four Dengue virus subgroups (1, 2, 3, 4). However, the exact epitope recognized has not been determined.

I bought this antibody in October last year and it came with the secondary antibody conjugated with HRP so, I wonder if the Ab sc-70959 comes with the secondary antibody or if I need to buy the secondary separately?

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Dengue Virus Antibody (9.F.10): sc-70959?

We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems.
