DDX1 Antibody (22) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects DDX1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). DDX1 is a member of the DEAD box protein family, which is characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp and functions as an RNA helicase, playing a crucial role in various cellular processes, including translation initiation, splicing of nuclear and mitochondrial RNA, and the assembly of ribosomes and spliceosomes. DDX1 involvement in RNA secondary structure regulation is essential for proper gene expression and cellular function. DDX1 mRNA exhibits widespread distribution in human fetal tissues, indicating significance during development, although expression is not uniform across all tissues. In chicken, DDX1 shares 93% identity with human DDX1 and shows peak expression during early developmental stages, suggesting a conserved role in embryogenesis. While tissue maturation associates with decreased DDX1 expression, elevated levels persist in the late embryonic retina and brain, highlighting potential importance in neurodevelopmental processes.
