    SEE ALSO...

DCAKD Antibody (SQ-14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DCAKD protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DCAKD antibody (SQ-14) is available as a non-conjugated format. DCAKD, also known as dephospho-CoA kinase domain containing protein, is a 231 amino acid protein featuring a dephospho-CoA kinase domain and an ATP nucleotide binding motif, which are crucial for enzymatic functions. DCAKD protein primarily localizes in mitochondria and cytosol, indicating a significant role in cellular metabolism. DCAKD (SQ-14) antibody targets a member of the coaE family, suggesting involvement in coenzyme A (CoA) biosynthesis, an essential cofactor participating in various biochemical pathways, including fatty acid synthesis, oxidation, and citric acid cycle. DCAKD′s importance stems from a potential regulatory role in CoA levels, critical for energy production and metabolic homeostasis. CoA biosynthesis from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) represents a universal process in prokaryotes and eukaryotes, with final steps performed by bifunctional enzyme COASY, whose activities remain evolutionarily conserved across species. Research into DCAKD function and regulation provides valuable insights into metabolic disorders and fundamental processes of cellular energy metabolism.

Can sc-100348: DCAKD (SQ-14) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100348: DCAKD (SQ-14) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
