Cytohesin-2 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cytohesin-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cytohesin-2 antibody (H-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cytohesin-2, also known as ARNO (ARF nucleotide-binding-site opener), functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for ARF1 and ARF6, which are critical in regulating vesicle budding and trafficking within cells. Cytohesin-2′s structure includes an N-terminal coiled-coil domain, a Sec 7 domain that facilitates GDP/GTP exchange, and a C-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain that binds to phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2). This binding enhances cytohesin-2′s GEF activity by recruiting cytohesin-2 to the plasma membrane, where cytohesin-2 can effectively stimulate nucleotide exchange on ARF proteins. Plasma membrane localization of cytohesin-2 ensures optimal positioning for substrate interaction and participation in membrane dynamics.

Are there any issues with using sc-374640: cytohesin-2 (H-7) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-374640 conjugates.
