CTGF Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect Connective Tissue Growth Factor (CTGF), also known as CCN2 or Hypertrophic Chondrocyte-Specific Gene Product 24 (Hcs24). anti-CTGF antibody (B-6) targets an epitope mapped to amino acids 170-207 within an internal region of human CTGF and is effective in recognizing CTGF from mouse, rat, human, equine, canine, and bovine species through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assays. CTGF is a pivotal member of the CCN family of immediate early proteins, characterized by its modular structure consisting of four conserved domains: IGFBP, VWC, TSP-1, and CT. This structural organization allows CTGF to interact with various receptors and extracellular matrix components, facilitating critical processes such as cell proliferation, migration, and extracellular matrix production, which are essential for tissue development, repair, and fibrosis. The cysteine-rich nature of CTGF enables the formation of disulfide bonds that stabilize its tertiary structure, enhancing its functionality in cellular signaling and matrix remodeling. CTGF is secreted by endothelial cells, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and myofibroblasts, underscoring its significant role in vascular biology and the progression of fibrotic diseases. Elevated levels of CTGF are closely associated with numerous fibrotic conditions, including renal, hepatic, and pulmonary fibrosis, making CTGF a key target for research and therapeutic interventions aimed at mitigating fibrosis. The structural features of CTGF facilitate interaction with multiple growth factors and receptors, influencing cellular behavior and tissue architecture. Available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® derivatives, CTGF (B-6) antibody provides versatile applications for diverse experimental needs.

Can this antibody be used with the Li-Cor system? What secondary should be used?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, this antibody can be used with the Li-COR system. We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my review for CTGF antibody (sc-373936)I tested a free antibody for CTGF antibody (sc-373936) using mouse fibrotic kidney samples for Western blot. We loaded 80 ug proteins in each slot in the SDS gel. The antibody was diluted in 1:500 in 3% BSA/PBST and incubated overnight with the blot. We can observe a very clear band around 38 kd. We have repeated this experiment several times and used the fresh diluted antibody on the fresh blot.
