CLAMP Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CLAMP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLAMP (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLAMP protein, also known as sperm flagellar protein 1 (SPEF1), is a 236 amino acid microtubule-associated protein predominantly found in epididymal sperm, where SPEF1 plays a crucial role in microtubule bundling, essential for proper sperm motility and function. SPEF1 is expressed in various tissues, including the lung, brain, and testis, and exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms in humans, indicating a conserved function across species. The gene encoding SPEF1 is located on human chromosome 20, which contains over 600 genes and represents nearly 2% of the human genome, highlighting its potential significance in various biological processes.
