QUICK LINKS

Cellulase from Aspergillus niger is an enzyme isolated asperillus niger (a fungus) that catalyzes the hydrolysis of certain linkages in cellulose and other carbohydrates. It helps hydrolyze the endo-1,4-beta-D-glycosidic linkages in cellulose, lichenin, barley glucan, and the cellooligosaccharides cellotriose to cellohexaose, which is very useful for research. It does not cleave p-nitrophenyl-beta-D-glucoside or cellobiose. It also hydrolyzes xylosyl serine linkages in intact glycosaminoglycan from a core peptide.
