SEE ALSO...

CD40 Antibody (LOB-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the CD40 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD40 (LOB-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD40 protein plays a crucial role in the immune response, primarily by mediating communication between B cells and T helper cells. CD40 is located on the surface of B cells and interacts with CD40 ligand (CD40L) expressed on activated T cells, which is essential for B cell activation and differentiation. This interaction not only promotes the proliferation of B cells but also facilitates immunoglobulin class switching, allowing B cells to produce different types of antibodies, including IgE, which is vital for mounting an effective immune response against pathogens. CD40′s importance in immune regulation is underscored by involvement in various immunological processes, including the activation of downstream signaling pathways that lead to the production of cytokines and other mediators essential for a robust immune response. Understanding CD40′s function and significance is critical for developing therapeutic strategies targeting immune-related diseases and enhancing vaccine efficacy.

Can CD40 (LOB-11): sc-13528 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD40 (LOB-11): sc-13528 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
