CBX8 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CBX8 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CBX8 (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CBX8, a member of the Polycomb group (PcG) proteins, plays a crucial role in gene silencing and Hox gene regulation by modifying chromatin structure during transcription, which maintains cellular identity and regulates developmental processes. CBX8, along with CBX4, exhibits structural similarities to M33 and interacts with PcG protein RING1 through a conserved c-box motif at RING1′s C-terminus. CBX8 binds to covalently modified forms of RING1 in vivo, highlighting specific functional interactions. CBX8 also interacts with AF9′s carboxy-terminus, a transcriptional activator linked to acute leukemias, emphasizing CBX8′s significance in transcriptional regulation. The human MPc3 gene, encoding the 389 amino acid CBX8 protein, is located on chromosome 17q25.3, underscoring CBX8′s relevance in genetic studies and potential implications in cancer research.
