Calgranulin C Antibody (19F5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the Calgranulin C protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Calgranulin C antibody (19F5) is available as a non-conjugated format and belongs to the EF-hand type calcium-binding protein family, which includes other notable members such as calbindin and S100 proteins. Calgranulin C, also known as S100A12, plays a crucial role in immune response, particularly in the activation and recruitment of immune cells during inflammation. S100A12 is primarily expressed in macrophages and epithelial cells, where S100A12 acts as a pro-inflammatory mediator, influencing the behavior of various immune cells and contributing to the pathophysiology of several inflammatory diseases. The ability of S100A12 to interact with specific proteins, such as receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE), underscores its importance in cellular signaling pathways that regulate inflammation and tissue repair. Using anti-Calgranulin C antibody (19F5) in research can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of immune response and the role of S100A12 in various pathological conditions.

Can sc-101347: Calgranulin C (19F5) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101347: Calgranulin C (19F5) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
