    SEE ALSO...

Cables2 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Cables2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cables2 Antibody (D-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cables2, also known as Cdk5 and ABL1 enzyme substrate 2 or Ik3-2, is a 478 amino acid protein that is ubiquitously expressed and features a C-terminal cyclin box-containing domain, classifying Cables2 within the cyclin protein superfamily. Cables2 plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, particularly through interactions with cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and c-Abl, which are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Notably, Cables2 forms a trimolecular complex with Cdk5 and c-Abl, enhancing apoptosis induced by p53 overexpression, which suggests a potential function as a tumor suppressor due to association with chromosomal loss of heterozygosity in certain cancers. Furthermore, Cables2 shares 78% sequence similarity with Cables, particularly in the cyclin box-containing domain, but Cables2 also possesses an N-terminal region that enhances both p53-mediated and p53-independent cell death, indicating broader implications in tumor suppression and cancer biology.
