C-PAF (Carbamyl-PAF) is utilized as a non-hydrolyzable bioactive analog of PAF. As an activator of PAF-R, it binds stereospecifically to high and low affinity PAF-R and activates platelet aggregation. C-PAF (Carbamyl-PAF) is a useful tool to determine the biological processes of PAF including stimulating human neutrophils and cause cultured retinal endothelial cell death in rats. It stimulates neutrophil degranulation responses, but resists metabolic inactivation by acetylhydrolase..
