BRSK1 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BRSK1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRSK1 Antibody (B-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BRSK1, also known as BR serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 or SAD1, is a crucial serine/threonine kinase that plays a significant role in cellular signaling pathways. This 794 amino acid protein is primarily localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, where BRSK1 is involved in the phosphorylation of target proteins, such as Wee1 and Cdc25B, which are essential for cell cycle regulation. BRSK1 influences microtubule assembly, thereby facilitating neuronal polarization and potentially regulating cell cycle arrest in response to DNA damage. BRSK1 requires magnesium as a cofactor for kinase activity, and BRSK1 expression is highest in the testis and brain, highlighting critical functions in these tissues. Two isoforms of BRSK1 arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse regulatory roles in cellular processes.
