    SEE ALSO...

BPAG1 Antibody (1B10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BPAG1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BPAG1 antibody (1B10) is available as the non-conjugated form. BPAG1 plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the epidermal-dermal junction, particularly through its function in hemidesmosome formation, which is essential for cell adhesion in stratified squamous epithelia. Hemidesmosomes are specialized structures that anchor keratinocytes to the underlying basement membrane, and their proper assembly and disassembly are vital during processes such as wound healing, where basal cells migrate and differentiate. BPAG1 is characterized by a central rod domain flanked by globular regions, which contribute to structural stability and interaction with other cytoskeletal components. Notably, a neuronal isoform known as BPAG1n3 arises from differential splicing, featuring unique amino acid sequences that alter functional properties, including a modified actin-binding domain. This diversity in isoforms underscores BPAG1′s importance in various cellular contexts and potential implications in skin integrity and neurological functions.

I am using BPAG1 (1B10): sc-293499 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
