    SEE ALSO...

BF-1 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BF-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BF-1 antibody (D-12) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BF-1, also known as brain factor 1 or foxg1, is a winged-helix transcriptional repressor that plays a pivotal role in progenitor cell proliferation within the cerebral cortex and is crucial for proper regional patterning of the mammalian telencephalon. BF-1 is characterized by a highly conserved WH domain, essential for DNA-binding capabilities, allowing regulation of gene expression during critical stages of brain development. BF-1 is primarily located in telencephalic progenitor cell nuclei, where BF-1 influences neuron differentiation and maturation. Precise regulation of BF-1 is vital, as disruption can lead to severe developmental defects in the cerebral cortex and basal ganglia, underscoring BF-1′s importance in neurogenesis. BF-1 expression begins as early as embryonic day 8.5, indicating early involvement in brain development, and may modulate progenitor cell responses to environmental signals, highlighting BF-1′s significance in neurodevelopmental processes.
