BAF53 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects BAF53 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BAF53, a crucial component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, plays a significant role in regulating gene expression through ATP-dependent mechanisms. BAF53 protein is primarily located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, which is essential for function in gene regulation and cellular signaling. Shuttling between these compartments allows BAF53 to interact with various transcription factors and chromatin remodeling complexes, thereby influencing cellular responses to growth signals and stress. Notably, BAF53 forms a complex with TIP49 and TIP48, which is vital for mediating the oncogenic activity of c-Myc, highlighting importance in cancer biology. The conserved N-terminal motif of BAF53, containing critical residues such as serine 2 and tyrosine 6, is integral to activity, making BAF53 a key player in cellular processes and a valuable target for research in gene regulation and oncogenesis.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Faint bands appeared on Western BlotGot a sample for BAF53 protein and did not get great signal. Had to increase intensity drastically to see faint bands. However, bands were crisp and clear.
