SEE ALSO...

BAF53 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects BAF53 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BAF53, a crucial component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, plays a significant role in regulating gene expression by facilitating ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling, which is essential for proper cellular function and development. BAF53 protein is primarily located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, allowing BAF53 to shuttle between these compartments and participate in diverse cellular processes. This dynamic localization enables BAF53 protein to interact with various transcription factors and chromatin remodeling complexes, thereby influencing gene expression patterns in response to cellular signals. Notably, BAF53 protein forms a complex with TIP49 and TIP48, which is implicated in mediating the oncogenic activity of c-Myc, highlighting BAF53′s importance in cancer biology. The conserved N-terminal motif of BAF53, which includes critical residues at serine 2 and tyrosine 6, is essential for BAF53′s activity, further underscoring the intricate regulatory mechanisms that govern gene expression and cellular homeostasis.
