APC11 Antibody (1B4-1A4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects APC11 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-APC11 antibody (1B4-1A4) is available in a non-conjugated form, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying the anaphase-promoting complex (APC), which is crucial for the regulation of the cell cycle. The APC, comprising more than ten subunits, plays a vital role in promoting the separation of sister chromatids during the transition from metaphase to anaphase in mitosis. This process is essential for accurate chromosome segregation, preventing aneuploidy, which can lead to cancer and other diseases. APC11, a RING-H2 finger protein, is integral to the ubiquitination process, facilitating the synthesis of multiubiquitin chains in conjunction with Ubiquitin carrier protein 4 (Ubc4) and ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (E2). APC activity is tightly regulated by various factors, including CDC20, CDH1, and MAD2, which modulate function to ensure proper cell cycle progression. Specifically, CDC20 and CDH1 activate APC′s cyclin-ubiquitination activity, while MAD2 inhibits by forming a ternary complex with CDC20 and APC, thus preventing premature activation. Understanding the dynamics of APC11 and its interactions is crucial for elucidating the mechanisms of cell cycle regulation and the potential implications in cancer biology.
