Datasheets
  • Adipsin Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ, cited in 3 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 79-113 within an internal region of Adipsin of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of Adipsin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for Adipsin Antibody (D-3) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with Adipsin Antibody (D-3) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Adipsin Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects Adipsin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Adipsin, also known as complement Factor D, plays a crucial role in the complement system, which is essential for immune response and inflammation regulation. This serine protease is primarily secreted by adipose tissue, where Adipsin is involved in the cleavage of complement factor B when complexed with activated complement component C3, thereby contributing to the activation of the alternative pathway of complement activation. The significance of Adipsin extends beyond enzymatic function; anti-Adipsin antibody (D-3) has revealed lower Adipsin levels in obese mice with hypothalamic defects. While this inverse correlation between Adipsin expression and obesity has been established in rodent models, similar findings in humans remain to be fully elucidated. Adipsin (D-3) antibody provides a valuable tool for researchers investigating Adipsin′s role in metabolic disorders and immune responses, facilitating a deeper understanding of biological significance.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-373860 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
