QUICK LINKS

5-Fluoro Cytosine is a nucleoside analog with potent antifungal properties. This compound undergoes deamination by cytosine deaminase, leading to the formation of 5-fluorouracil. The presence of 5-Fluoro Cytosine in the system disrupts RNA function by inducing miscoding. Furthermore, 5-Fluoro Cytosine hampers the synthesis of DNA and RNA and interferes with the production of ribosomal proteins.
