SUN2 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects SUN2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SUN2 antibody (G-5) is available as the non-conjugated form. SUN2, also known as sad1/unc-84 protein-like 2, UNC84B, FRIGG, KIAA0668, or RAB5IP, is a 717 amino acid single-pass membrane protein characterized by the presence of one SUN domain. SUN2 is primarily localized to the membranes of the nucleus and endosomes, which is crucial for its role in cellular processes such as nuclear positioning and endosomal trafficking. SUN2′s proper localization is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the nuclear envelope and facilitating communication between the nucleus and cytoplasm. SUN2 is widely expressed across various tissues, including lung, muscle, and heart, and interacts with Rab 5A, suggesting involvement in homotypic endosome fusion, a process vital for cellular recycling and signaling. The gene encoding SUN2 is located on human chromosome 22, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and Neurofibromatosis type 2, highlighting SUN2′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
