SEE ALSO...

Pan cathepsin Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects pan cathepsin in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Pan cathepsin encompasses a range of cysteine proteases that play crucial roles in cellular processes such as protein degradation and peptide biosynthesis, which are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating metabolic pathways. Notably, these proteases are predominantly localized in lysosomes, where they contribute to the degradation of misfolded or damaged proteins, thus preventing cellular stress and potential apoptosis. The proper functioning of pan cathepsins is essential for various physiological processes, including immune response and tissue remodeling, and dysregulation of these enzymes has been implicated in several diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Pan cathepsin (C-5) antibody provides a powerful tool for researchers aiming to study the expression and activity of these critical proteases in human tissues, facilitating a deeper understanding of their roles in health and disease.

Can pan cathepsin (C-5): sc-365614 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, pan cathepsin (C-5): sc-365614 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
