La/SSB Antibody (22A) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects La/SSB in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). La/SSB is an autoimmune RNA-binding protein that plays a crucial role in the transcription of RNA polymerase III, which is essential for synthesizing small RNAs, including tRNA and 5S rRNA. The proper functioning of La/SSB is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating gene expression, as disruptions in La/SSB activity can lead to various autoimmune diseases, including Sjogren syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus. La/SSB interacts with other proteins involved in RNA metabolism, such as the Ro/SSA ribonucleoprotein complex, highlighting La/SSB importance in the formation and stability of ribonucleoprotein particles. The genes encoding La/SSB and Ro/SSA are located on human chromosomes 1q31 and 11p15.5, respectively, and their expression is often correlated in autoimmune conditions, making anti-La/SSB antibody (22A) a valuable tool for studying these diseases and understanding the underlying mechanisms of autoimmunity.
