HuR Antibody (3A2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HuR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HuR (3A2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HuR protein, also known as ELAV-like RNA binding protein 1, plays a crucial role in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by binding to AU-rich elements in the 3′-untranslated region of target mRNAs. This interaction stabilizes mRNA transcripts that would otherwise be rapidly degraded, thereby influencing the expression levels of genes involved in critical cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, and response to stress. HuR protein is ubiquitously expressed and is often overexpressed in various tumors, highlighting importance in cancer biology. HuR contains three RNA recognition motifs, which are essential for binding activity, and shuttling between the nucleus and cytoplasm is regulated by a nuclear export signal, allowing modulation of mRNA stability and translation in response to cellular signals. This dynamic regulation underscores HuR significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential as a therapeutic target in cancer and other diseases.
