6α-프로스타글란딘 I1(6α-PGI1)은 수용액에서 가수분해에 저항하는 안정적인 프로스타글란딘 I2(PGI2) 유사체입니다. 6α-PGI1은 농도에 의존적인 방식으로 인간 갑상선 절편과 세포에서 주기적 AMP 축적을 촉진합니다. 그러나 반응을 유도하는 데 있어 β-이성질체보다 약 10배, PGI2보다 100배 덜 강력합니다.1 6α-PGI1은 ADP에 의한 혈소판 응집 억제에 대해 350ng/ml의 IC50을 나타내며, 이는 PGI2(0.4ng/ml)보다 거의 900배 높은 수치입니다.2
