SEE ALSO...

LIS1 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects LIS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LIS1 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LIS1 protein plays a critical role in neuronal migration during brain development, and LIS1 dysfunction is associated with lissencephaly, a condition characterized by a smooth cerebral surface and severe cognitive impairments. LIS1 protein is essential for proper organization of the cerebral cortex, as LIS1 interacts with doublecortin, another protein implicated in neuronal migration. LIS1 interaction with doublecortin is vital for regulating microtubule dynamics, which are crucial for neuron movement to appropriate locations in the developing brain. Disruptions in this process can lead to significant developmental disorders, highlighting the importance of studying LIS1 and associated pathways.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374586 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

I'm impressed, they both only detect a single band with the appropriate size for Lis1. The band is reduced following Lis1 siRNA so I think the antibodies have great specificity for detecting Lis1 by western blotting.
