ITI-H5 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ITI-H5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ITI-H5 (D-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ITI-H5, also known as inter-alpha (globulin) inhibitor H5 or inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain H5, is a 942 amino acid protein that belongs to the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor (ITIH) family and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 10p14. ITI-H5 plays a crucial role in extracellular matrix stabilization, tumor metastasis prevention, and plasma serine proteases inhibition, making ITI-H5 significant in cancer biology and tissue remodeling. ITI-H5 is expressed in various tissues, with notably high levels in the placenta, and exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms, which may include a heavy chain with potential calcium-binding sites and two light chains. ITI-H5 features two conserved domains: a vault inter-alpha-trypsin (VIT) domain and a von Willebrand type A (VWA) domain, both essential for functional properties. Decreased expression of ITI-H5 has been implicated in the development of various tumors, including breast cancer, highlighting ITI-H5′s importance as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target.
