SEE ALSO...

Grx1 Antibody (3C11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Grx1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Grx1 antibody (3C11) is available as the non-conjugated format. Glutaredoxin (Grx1) plays a crucial role in cellular redox homeostasis, acting as a key player in thiol-disulfide exchange reactions that are vital for maintaining protein structure and function. Grx1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where Grx1 participates in the reduction of disulfide bonds in proteins, thereby facilitating proper protein folding and function. Grx1′s cytoplasmic localization enables rapid response to oxidative stress, protecting cells from damage by reducing oxidized proteins and maintaining redox balance. Grx1 is involved in the regulation of various signaling pathways, influencing processes such as apoptosis and cell proliferation. The unique structure of Grx1, characterized by two vicinal cysteine residues in the active site, allows effective catalysis of these critical reactions, making Grx1 an essential component in cellular defense against oxidative damage. Anti-Grx1 antibody (3C11) is a valuable tool for researchers studying oxidative stress responses, protein folding, and redox regulation in human cells.

Can sc-293250: Grx1 (3C11) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293250: Grx1 (3C11) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
