CYP2F2 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CYP2F2 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CYP2F2 (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CYP2F2, or cytochrome P450 2F2, is a membrane-bound enzyme predominantly located in the endoplasmic reticulum of Clara cells in the lungs, where CYP2F2 plays a crucial role in the metabolism of xenobiotics, particularly potentially harmful compounds like naphthalene. CYP2F2′s ability to catalyze the conversion of naphthalene into a glutathione-dihydronaphthalene conjugate is significant because CYP2F2 helps detoxify harmful substances, although CYP2F2 can also lead to cellular necrosis in cases of high exposure. The polymorphic nature of CYP2F2 may influence individual susceptibility to lung toxins, making CYP2F2 an important target for research into respiratory health and toxicology. As the murine homolog of human CYP2F1, CYP2F2 serves as a valuable model for understanding the metabolic pathways and risks associated with similar compounds in humans.
