ChoKB Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ChoKB protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ChoKB (G-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ChoKB, also known as choline kinase beta, is a crucial enzyme consisting of 395 amino acids that catalyzes the phosphorylation of choline to produce phosphocholine and adenosine diphosphate in the presence of magnesium and adenosine triphosphate. This enzymatic activity is vital for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylcholine, a key component of cell membranes, and plays a significant role in cell growth and proliferation. Additionally, ChoKB exhibits ethanoalamine kinase activity, further contributing to cellular metabolism. The gene encoding ChoKB is situated less than 1 kilobase upstream of the CPT1B gene, indicating a potential regulatory relationship that may influence the transcription of CPT1B. Notably, mutations or deletions in the ChoKB gene have been linked to hindlimb muscular dystrophy and neonatal bone deformities in mice, underscoring ChoKB′s importance in muscle and bone health.
