TRC8 Antibody (YB-16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TRC8 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRC8, also known as RNF139, RCA1, or HRCA1, is a multi-pass membrane protein predominantly expressed in the testis, adrenal gland, and placenta, with lower expression levels in the liver, skeletal muscle, pancreas, kidney, brain, heart, and lung. TRC8 is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and features ten transmembrane segments, a sterol-sensing domain, and a RING-type zinc finger, which suggests a potential role as a ubiquitin ligase and signaling receptor. TRC8 interacts with the Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor protein, and disruptions in TRC8, such as those caused by chromosomal translocations, are linked to hereditary renal cell carcinoma, indicating significance as a potential tumor suppressor. TRC8 is involved in critical cellular processes, including the induction of G2/M phase arrest, increased apoptosis, and decreased DNA synthesis, highlighting importance in regulating cell cycle and maintaining genomic stability.
