SEE ALSO...

PMPCA Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PMPCA of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PMPCA antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PMPCA, also known as peptidase (mitochondrial processing) alpha, alpha-MPP, P-55, INPP5E, or MPPA, is a 525 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function by cleaving transit peptides from mitochondrial protein precursors, which is essential for proper import and processing of proteins into mitochondria. This process is vital for maintaining mitochondrial integrity and function, as PMPCA ensures proteins are correctly localized and activated within the organelle, thereby supporting cellular energy metabolism and apoptosis regulation. PMPCA is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 9, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia, highlighting PMPCA′s importance in human health.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390471 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
