    Cacna2d2 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Cacna2d2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Cacna2d2 antibody (G-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The CACNA2D2 gene encodes the calcium channel, voltage-dependent alpha2delta-2 protein, which serves as a crucial regulatory subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels. Cacna2d2 is essential for mediating calcium influx into cells, a process vital for numerous physiological functions, including neurotransmitter release and muscle contraction. Cacna2d2 interacts with alpha-1, beta, and gamma subunits in a precise 1:1:1:1 ratio to form a functional calcium channel, with expression predominantly observed in the brain and heart, highlighting Cacna2d2′s importance in central nervous system function. Disruptions in the CACNA2D2 gene have been implicated in various neurological disorders, such as cerebellar ataxias and epilepsy, while Cacna2d2 expression is notably reduced in several cancers, including lung and breast cancer, indicating a potential role as a tumor suppressor. The CACNA2D2 gene is located in the tumor suppressor region of chromosome 3p21.3 in humans, and Cacna2d2 shares 56% amino acid homology with the alpha2/delta-1 subunit, although these proteins exhibit distinct tissue expression patterns, underscoring the complexity of calcium signaling pathways in health and disease.
