Le sel de nitrate de sulconazole est un agent antimicrobien à l'efficacité étendue qui empêche la croissance des champignons en interférant avec la production d'ergostérol, un constituant vital des membranes cellulaires fongiques. En outre, le sel de nitrate de sulconazole a démontré sa capacité à inhiber la prolifération des bactéries et d'autres micro-organismes en entravant la synthèse des acides gras. Son mode d'action consiste à se lier aux acides gras de la membrane plasmique, empêchant ainsi leur intégration dans la bicouche phospholipidique. Par conséquent, cette perturbation diminue la fluidité de la membrane cellulaire, ce qui compromet l'intégrité structurelle et augmente la perméabilité des cellules.
