    SEE ALSO...

SKIV2L Antibody (1E5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SKIV2L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SKIV2L antibody (1E5) is available as the non-conjugated form. SKIV2L, also known as superkiller viralicidic activity 2-like, helicase-like protein, DDX13, SKI2W, or SKIV2, is a crucial 1,246 amino acid nuclear protein that functions primarily as a helicase and possesses ATPase activity, which is essential for unwinding RNA and DNA during various cellular processes. This unwinding capability is particularly important in antiviral responses, as SKIV2L inhibits the translation of poly(A) deficient mRNA, thereby playing a significant role in cellular defense against viral infections. The gene encoding SKIV2L is located on human chromosome 6p21.33, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including porphyria cutanea tarda and Parkinson′s disease, highlighting SKIV2L′s potential implications in both health and disease. With specific reactivity to mouse, rat, and human samples, SKIV2L monoclonal antibody (1E5) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating molecular mechanisms of viral resistance and broader functions of helicases in cellular biology.
