Rag B Antibody (2B8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Rag B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rag B antibody (2B8) is available as a non-conjugated antibody, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this important protein. Rag B, also known as RRAGB, is a 374 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and metabolism. Rag B (2B8) antibody belongs to the GTR/RAG GTP-binding protein family and is essential for the activation of the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) in response to amino acids. Rag B (2B8) monoclonal antibody′s function is vital for regulating cell growth and proliferation, as mTORC1 is a central controller of cellular metabolism, growth, and autophagy. Rag B exists in both short and long isoforms due to alternative splicing, with the short isoform being GTP-bound and active. This GTP-binding activity is critical for the relocalization of mTORC1 to the lysosomal surface, where mTORC1 can be activated by RHEB, another GTPase. Understanding the dynamics of Rag B and its interactions is essential for elucidating the mechanisms of nutrient sensing and signaling pathways that influence cellular homeostasis and disease states.
