PGM 2L1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PGM 2L1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGM 2L1 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PGM 2L1, also known as phosphoglucomutase 2-like 1, glucose 1,6-bisphosphate synthase, PMMLP, or BM32A, is a 622 amino acid cytosolic protein that plays a crucial role in carbohydrate metabolism by catalyzing the interconversion of glucose-1-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate. This enzymatic function is vital for maintaining glucose homeostasis and energy production, particularly in the brain, where PGM 2L1 is predominantly expressed. PGM 2L1 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 11q13.4 and exhibits a high degree of evolutionary conservation, sharing 60% amino acid sequence identity with PGM 2. While PGM 2L1 is widely expressed in various tissues, including testis, thymus, spleen, lung, and skeletal muscle, PGM 2L1′s absence in chicken suggests a unique evolutionary trajectory. PGM 2L1′s ability to synthesize elevated levels of glucose 1,6-bisphosphate in the brain underscores PGM 2L1′s importance in neuroenergetics and potential implications in neurological disorders.
