    SEE ALSO...

PCDHA11 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PCDHA11 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PCDHA11 antibody (A-4) is available as the non-conjugated form. Protocadherins, including PCDHA11, are crucial for the establishment and maintenance of neuronal connections in the brain, and belong to a large family of cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins. The PCDH-alpha gene cluster, which includes PCDHA11, contains multiple genes that encode proteins involved in cell adhesion processes. PCDHA11 is a 949 amino acid single-pass transmembrane protein characterized by six cadherin domains, and functions as a potential calcium-dependent cell-adhesion protein, playing a significant role in the formation and maintenance of synaptic connections. PCDHA11 interacts with Integrin β1, which enhances cell adhesion and facilitates the formation of oligomers with PCDH-gamma proteins at specific membrane sites, underscoring its importance in neuronal connectivity. PCDHA11 is subject to alternative splicing, resulting in two isoforms that may have distinct functional roles in cellular processes.
