Ox40L Antibody (OX89) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Ox40L of mouse origin by flow cytometry (FCM). Ox40L (OX89) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. The Ox40 ligand, also known as gp34, is a type II membrane protein characterized by its lack of signal peptide, which is crucial for function in immune responses. As a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily, Ox40L serves as a vital costimulatory molecule that facilitates interactions between dendritic cells and T cells, as well as promoting T cell homing and B cell activation. The engagement of Ox40L with Ox40 provides a potent costimulatory signal to effector T cells, significantly enhancing activation and proliferation. Notably, Ox40L is predominantly expressed on activated B cells, while Ox40 is found on activated T cells, underscoring the importance of this interaction in regulating antigen-specific T cell responses in vivo. This dynamic is particularly critical during both the priming and effector phases of T cell activation, where Ox40L is expressed on antigen-presenting cells (APCs), thereby playing a key role in orchestrating effective immune responses.
