NREBP Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NREBP of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NREBP antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NREBP, also known as negative regulatory element-binding protein, SON, SON3, BASS1, or DBP-5, is a 2426 amino acid nuclear speckle protein that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly in human hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. NREBP binds to specific DNA sequences located upstream of the core promoter and second enhancer of HBV, effectively repressing the activity of the HBV core promoter, thereby inhibiting the transcription of HBV genes and virion production. This regulatory function is vital for controlling viral replication and maintaining cellular health. NREBP is also involved in pre-mRNA splicing and may help protect cells from apoptosis, highlighting its importance in cellular processes. NREBP exhibits significant sequence similarities with other DNA-binding structural proteins, including gallin, Mos, and oncoproteins of the Myc family, and exists in ten isoforms due to alternative splicing events, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in different cellular contexts.
