Na+ CP type Vα Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Na+ CP type V alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Na+ CP type Vα (H-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Na+ CP type V alpha protein, encoded by the SCN5A gene, plays a crucial role in the cardiac action potential by facilitating the rapid influx of sodium ions, which is essential for the depolarization phase of cardiac myocyte excitation. This process is vital for maintaining proper heart rhythm and conduction; any dysfunction in Na+ CP type V alpha can lead to serious cardiac arrhythmias. The SCN5A gene is located on chromosome 3q21-24 and is specifically expressed in human atrial and ventricular cardiac muscle, but not in adult skeletal muscle, brain, myometrium, liver, or spleen.
