SEE ALSO...

MCM4 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MCM4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MCM4 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) family of proteins, which includes MCM2, MCM3, MCM4 (Cdc21), MCM5 (Cdc46), MCM6 (Mis5), and MCM7 (Cdc47), plays a crucial role in regulating DNA replication, ensuring that replication occurs only once during the cell cycle. MCM4 is essential for forming the MCM2-7 complex, which acts as a helicase during DNA unwinding, a critical step for DNA replication. Proper functioning of MCM4 maintains genomic stability, as any dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and contribute to oncogenesis. MCM4 undergoes various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can influence activity and interactions with other proteins, thereby impacting the cell cycle and DNA repair processes. Understanding MCM4 dynamics and associated complexes helps elucidate cell division mechanisms and potential implications in cancer biology.
