KIF18A Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects KIF18A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KIF18A antibody (C-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KIF18A, also known as kinesin family member 18A, is a vital protein composed of 898 amino acids that features a kinesin-motor domain, which facilitates ATP-dependent movement along microtubules. This protein plays a critical role in chromosome congression by modulating the dynamics of chromosome movement during cell division, specifically by reducing the amplitude of preanaphase oscillations and slowing the poleward movement during anaphase. The proper functioning of KIF18A is essential for accurate chromosome segregation, which is crucial for maintaining genomic stability and preventing aneuploidy, a condition often associated with cancer. Additionally, KIF18A expression is induced by estrogen, linking KIF18A to hormonal regulation and potentially influencing various cellular processes in response to hormonal changes.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390600 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
