KCNMB4 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects KCNMB4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KCNMB4 antibody (B-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KCNMB4, also known as Slo-beta-4 or Maxi K channel subunit beta-4, is a 210 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role as a regulatory subunit of the calcium-activated potassium MaxiKα channel. KCNMB4 is predominantly expressed in the brain and is essential for modulating the calcium sensitivity and gating kinetics of the MaxiKα channel, thereby contributing to the diversity of MaxiK channels. KCNMB4′s importance lies in coassembling with MaxiKα subunits, which are large conductance voltage and calcium-activated potassium channels that facilitate smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. Through regulation of these channels, KCNMB4 plays a significant role in various physiological processes, including muscle contraction and neurotransmitter release, making KCNMB4 a vital component in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to physiological stimuli.
