Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide, sc-1292 P: IL-13 (C-19) P, is intended to be used to neutralize the antigen binding sites of this specific corresponding goat polyclonal antibody. We recommend pre-incubating a 5-fold excess (by weight) of blocking peptide with the primary antibody in a small reaction volume (500 µl). Subsequently, using the antibody-peptide mixture in your protocol as a negative control as you would use the primary antibody alone. The expected result is negative.
