    SEE ALSO...

Grancalcin Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Grancalcin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Grancalcin (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Grancalcin is a calcium-binding protein predominantly found in human neutrophils and plays a crucial role in immune response regulation. Grancalcin belongs to the penta EF-hand (PEF) subfamily of EF-hand proteins, which includes calpain, sorcin, peflin, and ALG-2. Grancalcin′s structure is characterized by forming a homodimer through the association of unpaired EF5 hands, which is essential for function. Upon calcium binding, Grancalcin undergoes significant conformational changes that expose hydrophobic amino acid residues, allowing interaction with hydrophobic surfaces and potentially influencing cellular processes. Notably, Grancalcin interacts with L-plastin, a protein known for actin bundling activity, suggesting involvement in regulating neutrophil adhesion and migration. This interaction highlights Grancalcin′s importance in the immune system, particularly in inflammation and pathogen response, as Grancalcin is primarily associated with cells originating from the bone marrow, especially neutrophils and monocytes, while only trace amounts are found in lymphocytes.
