Datasheets
  • Gβ Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 302-340 at the C-terminus of Gβ of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of Gβ1, Gβ2, Gβ3 and Gβ4 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Gβ Antibody (C-8) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Gβ Antibody (C-8) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

Gβ Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Gβ in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Gβ, a crucial component of heterotrimeric G proteins, plays a significant role in transmitting signals from cell surface receptors to intracellular effectors, thereby influencing numerous physiological processes. Gβ subunits are essential regulators of G protein α subunits and certain signal transduction receptors, which are vital for maintaining cellular communication and response to external stimuli. Notably, Gβ5, one of the five members of the β-subunit family, exhibits unique characteristics, being only 50% homologous to the other β subunits, Gβ1-4, which share at least 83% homology. This distinctiveness is important as Gβ5 is predominantly expressed in the brain, pancreas, kidney, and heart, suggesting specialized functions in these tissues. anti-Gβ antibody (C-8) is an invaluable tool for researchers aiming to explore the intricate signaling pathways mediated by G proteins, facilitating a deeper understanding of their roles in health and disease.
