E4F1 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects E4F1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). E4F1 (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. E4F1, also known as E4F transcription factor 1, is a 784 amino acid protein found in both nucleus and cytoplasm, where E4F1 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression. E4F1 contains nine C2H2-type zinc fingers, essential for DNA-binding capabilities, allowing E4F1 to function as a transcriptional repressor. This regulation maintains cellular homeostasis and influences cell survival and growth through cell cycle control. E4F1 also acts as a ubiquitin ligase, facilitating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of target proteins, participating in the p53 tumor suppressor pathway. E4F1 undergoes post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation and sumoylation, and proteolytic cleavage, resulting in a short peptide with specific DNA-binding properties, highlighting E4F1′s multifaceted role in cellular processes.
